ST. GEORGE - A six-year-old autistic boy who went missing around 9 p.m. Saturday evening was found unharmed in the apartment complex where he lives.

Officer James Schafer of the St. George Police Department said the boy was found around 1:44 p.m. Sunday in the Avalon Apartments in an unoccupied residence.

Schafer said in a phone interview that this was not the first time the boy had wondered off but it was the first time he had remained missing for an extended period of time.

"There are no indications of any criminal activity involving this incident," Schafer said in a press release. "The St. George Police Department would also like to thank all of the volunteers that assisted in the search of the missing/located child."
